Hello everyone!
I would consider myself a relatively healthy person physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I would consider my physical health to be a 7. I could be physically healthier but I am pretty content with my physical health. I used to be a 10 but that went away when I quit my weightlifting routine about 6 years ago; before that I was a monster. My spiritual health would be at a 7. I do not have much religion in my life but I am content with that; I do have questions about life that are yet to be answered but my life is not over yet, I still have time to figure it out. I have an emotional health of about 9. I can control my emotions pretty well and do not let them get the best of me. I never really have any emotional problems but I could not give myself a 10 because there are days that I feel really run down mentally.
I could help my physical health by simply increasing my physical activity level every day. I could be a lot more physical and in a lot better shape. I have a goal of beginning a fitness program at a local fitness facility. My spiritual health could be potentially better with more life experiences. I also could explore some religion branches in this life to see if anything really fits with what I feel about this life. I have a goal to go to church with my wife and see what she was raised to believe in the Catholic religion. My emotional health could be better if I had less stress in my life. This could be accomplished my lessening my load of tasks that I try to accomplish everyday. I have a goal to take at least 30 minutes of time for myself everyday. I need time to just relax and do my own thing.
The Crime of the Century was an OK exercise. It is a real good example of how the human mind can help the body relax. This is something that could be done really any time of the day when you are not doing anything else. The rainbow part of the exercise was something that I have heard before. The results were about the same. It is amazing how a person can visualize different lights and feel the light pass over the body. The only gripe I have about this exercise is the narrator, the same narrator as last week's exercise. He is just annoying. Thanks everyone for listening to me babble!

Hi Brad,
ReplyDeleteGreat post about your total health! I did not rate myself as high as I thought I would, which naturally led me to feel the need for improvement. I think this exercise is very interesting. I want to ask some people I know how they would rate these areas of themselves. I think I would help me understand them so much more.
I am happy to see that you feel pretty good emotionally. I work in a psychiatric hospital so I can appreciate good emotional health! That is something to be proud of and grateful for!

Hi Brad,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you are in a pretty good situation mentally, physically, and spiritually. I agree that a person's spiritual well-being can be increased through life experiences. That is something that I have not thought about previously but is definitely true. A person would not be able to achieve the self-transformation that is a part of integral health without learning their temperament and capacity through circumstance (Dacher, 2009). I also thought that the rainbow exercise was interesting. I did like the visualizations, but I think other guided imagery has helped me relax more.
Hi Brad, Physical well-being is how you feel with working out and being health. Your well-being seems to be rounded out, but I understand that you want to experience more and work a little more as well. Taking time to ourselves daily is very hard to do especially when we are always on the go. The exercise helped me relax, but I agree the guy's voice is not as soothing during this one as last week's.

Hi Brad
ReplyDeleteGreat Post! You set some goals for your self which is a good thing. It is good that you give yourself time each day to sit back and relax. We all need relaxation times its a good way for reflection to be by yourself and to think about things and get yourself back into perspective.
Great Post!

Hey there Brad. You seem like you have a good handle on your life. Physical activity is great whether you are trying to look better or take a load off your mind. I am sure you feel like you have to get back into because at one point, you probably were a beast. I want to stay fit but not go overboard for that reason. I am also exploring my personality and don't like the thought of clinging to a religion because it makes me feel boxed in. There is a unity church where I live that I have been wanting to check out. Maybe it would be something you are interested in. Anyways, have a good day and good luck with your goals.

Hi Brad, I like that you described yourself as being a monster when you were lifting weights. I would consider myself to be in good shape at the moment but there were times in my past where I feel I could literally run through walls. Strenght training(not body building) is a big hobby of mine. I always hated having to answer questions about myself or having to rate myself like we had to do this week, but overall I guess It´s good to do and see where we stand. As far as the audio exercise we did, I just enter these things with no expectations and it turned out to be pretty cool. See ya.
